Dear Nigel:
I would like to thank you and the Fermilab staff for all your help in mounting our test beam
experiment, T-1044, at the Fermilab Test Beam Facility. The group out there in the Meson
Lab was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. They helped us set up, pull
down, and learn to operate the beamline in short order, and helped us respond to concerns in
the safety review. We had help from Aria, Ewa, J.J., Bill, Geoff, Erik, and Doug. Those responsible for safety, Leo and
Eric, did an excellent job in enforcing standards without imposing needless
hardship. The riggers, John and Tommy, did a great job with our detector, even though it
was large enough to require opening the roof of the enclosure. Last, but not least, Todd is an extraordinary technician that you are very fortunate to have. He really guided us
through the process with his great breadth of experience and good humor.
The equipment is all back at Brookhaven now and nearly thawed out, and we will be happily
analyzing the results for several months, thanks to the FTBF staff.
Sincerely,
John S. Haggerty
